The Chief Executive of
Djan Witeh & Associates,
Mr. Emmanuel Ola Williams, has given the assurance that the stage is set for the Nunu Milk Road Safety Sports Festival slated for the Ashanti Region.
And baring any unforeseen circumstances, about 24 basic schools will, this Thursday and Friday, battle for four places to represent the region in the inter-regional competition.
Some of the teams lined up for the competition are the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology Junior High School (KNUST JHS), Twins Int., Jubilee Prep., and St Michael making up Group A.
Angel Education, Call of Hope, Blessing School and Noble Prince (Group B), Kings College, St. Pauls, Maria Montessori, All Saint Anglican (Group C), Global Evangelical, Salem Education, Great Faith, Komfo Anokye JHS (Group D) and Western Brain, Cambridge International, Western Brain (Group E).
A few weeks ago, Christ Mission School (CMS) reigned supreme in the boys’ event of the just-ended Nunu Milk Road Safety Sports Festival.
The festival, which was the Greater Accra version, saw Morning Glory School (MGS) finishing second, with Abibiman Academy clinching the third spot.
The pre-tournament favourites only managed the “Fair Play” Award, with Christ Ebenezer School grabbing the Best Supportive Team Award. For their effort, the first four teams will represent the Greater Accra Region in the inter-regional competition, scheduled for March 2010 in Accra.
The girls category saw Ewit Greenwich Academy emerging tops, with Modern Days, Cambridge Academy and Accra International School following in second and third place, to book places for the Accra inter-regional showpiece.
Baptist School Complex earlier won the Western Region edition, alongside Baptist Boys, Top Ridge School, Celestial Institute of Professional Studies and Future Leaders. It was Richmond Bilson who emerged as the best player, while Prince Johnson won the top scorer award.
